Glenburn - Helen J. (Arnold) Brasslett, 93, passed away August 31, 2019 at a Bangor hospital with family by her side. She was born in Bradford August 3, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Hortense (Stanhope) Arnold.
Helen worked in several shoe factories over the years before her and her husband built the Lakeview Market in Glenburn which is now the Checkout. She spent over 40 winters at her home in Zephyrhills, Fl where she met many friends. Helen loved the family camp at Boyd Lake where she enjoyed family gatherings, swimming and her kayak. She loved any type of dancing whenever she could.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Brasslett, and Gordon Brasslett and Patty Clement, all of Glenburn; daughter-in-law, Ruthena Brasslett of Glenburn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Earland Arnold and his wife, Jeanette, of Charleston.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Legorie; son, Raylan Brasslett; daughter, Judy Pierce; sisters, Loretta Chase and husband, Fred, Hilda Chase and husband, Henry, Glenda Brackett and husband, John; brothers, Errold Arnold and wife Joyce, and Durward Arnold and Marice and her fiancé, Walter (Pete) Nadeau.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2019, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service.
