Henry R. Martin, 77, of Stockton Springs passed away peacefully at a Bangor Hospital on May 14, 2024. Henry was born on February 8, 1947 to Ralph and Alphonsene (Surrette) Martin.
Henry grew up in Massachusetts, graduating from Lunenburg High School, Class of 1965, before following in his father’s footsteps by entering the mechanic trade. On September 8, 1979, Henry married the love of his life, Pauline Smith. Together, they raised three children.
Henry was an avid sports fan, acquiring quite the collection of sports cards over the years. He loved motorcycles, visiting the ocean, working on puzzles of any kind, and of course, time spent with family.
Henry had many accomplishments in life, but his most memorable would be racing at the Indy 500, and his contribution to the Apollo Missions, constructing the recovery ropes.
In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his brother, Richard Martin. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pauline Martin; daughter, Jacqueline Martin; sons, Ralph Martin and Ricky Martin; sisters, Nancy Morse and Suzanne Martin; brother, Mulford Martin; close friends, Tom Lindsay of Surry, Maine, and Phil Welton of Shirley, Massachusetts; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his puppy, Roxy; grand-puppies, Nose Marie and RoRo; as well as Mr. Carleton, his beloved cat.
