HAMPDEN AND ARGYLE - Howard Vincent White, 93, died peacefully November 7, 2022, at home in Hampden. He was born September 20, 1929, in Old Town, the son of Fred and Bernice (McLean) White.
Howard attended Hampden schools before serving in the U.S. Army in Germany and Panama during the Korean war. He married Madeline Hatch, and built a home in Argyle, where they raised 6 children. He retired in 1994 after many years working at the University of Maine. Howard was a proud veteran, and was a member of American Legion Post 41, in Milo, and VFW Post 3381, in Old Town.
Surviving, are his sons, Brent White, of Argyle; Jeff White and his wife, Theresa, of Etna; Glenn White, of Hampden; daughter, Cheryl Rankin and her husband, Kenny, of Norcross, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Andrea Sutton, of East Sandwich Massachusetts; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline; daughter, Lisa Hodgdon; son, Gary; brothers, Bernard and Gerald; and sister, Helen Crawford.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Cedarvale Cemetery, Argyle.
