Hubert Chaloux, 99, passed away November 26, 2018, at Windward Gardens in Camden. He was born March 29, 1919, in Ashland, the son of Edmund and Lena (Russell) Chaloux.
Hubert was a man of many talents. As a contractor he built many homes in and around Veazie, where he and his family were longtime residents. Earlier in his life, he was an 18 year Civil Service employee at Dow Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic. Hubert was a member for 67 years of the Mechanics Lodge #66 A.F. & A.M. of Orono.
He is survived by his daughters; Gloria Williams, Judith Struchtemeyer and husband Robert; a son, William Chaloux; a brother, Raymond Chaloux and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Jay Ellingsen and wife Jackie, Kris Ellingsen, Kevin Perrigo and wife Teresa, Roger Williams and wife Rhonda, Valerie Cote and husband Max, and Dena Belcher and husband Danny; a special nephew Jack Dabrio and wife Linda; and many great-grandchildren . In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Margaret; a daughter, Nancy Ellingsen; and three sisters, Mildred Storman, Hilda Meguier, Pauline Moro; and a brother, Alphonse Chaloux.
Friends may call from 4-6 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A Graveside Service will be announced in the spring. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. Gifts in Huberts memory may be made to a charity of choice.
