LEVANT – Idella Bertha (Curtis) Peary, 96, went to be with her Lord, November 22, 2018, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 5, 1922, in Caribou, the daughter of Nathan and Josephine (Searles) Curtis.
Early in life, Idella attended Perham public schools. Following school, she worked in private homes. Idella also lived and worked in Connecticut for a short period. Moving back to Maine, she worked in the Caribou bag factory, met and married her husband, and eventually moved to a farm in Levant. While living in Levant, she worked a year for the Levant Consolidated School. She was a longtime member of the Minerva Grange, Harvest Chapel of Levant, formerly, Levant Village Baptist Church, and the local senior citizens group. Idella’s world revolved around her family, and she loved each and every one of them.
