Bangor - Iris (Knight) Freeman, 89, passed away on February 21, 2019 at her home in Bangor with her loving family by her side, after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born on January 24, 1930 in Monson, Maine, the daughter of Henry S. and Katherine (Graham) Knight.
She and her husband Arthur "Ropo" Freeman just celebrated 65 years of marriage.
She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur; her son, Larry Freeman and his wife, Darlene, of Orrington; grandson, Adam Freeman and his wife, Sarah of, Brewer; granddaughters, Katie Freeman, and Amy Freeman, both of Brewer; step-grandson, Jake Smith and his fiancée, Lauren Gray, of Brewer; step-granddaughter, Deaven Smith, of South Portland; and step-great granddaughter, Harper Smith, of Brewer. Additional family include brother-in-law, Gerald Freeman and wife, Voight, of Lincoln, sister-in-law, Charlene Street and her husband, Raymond of Millinocket, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial reception will be held, 5-7 p.m Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street. Interment will be private for family.
