BANGOR - Irving was born the second child to Olive Sabine and Arthur E Inman on May 25,1927 and departed this world on August 2, 2021.
Irving was a kind and gentle soul. He was a wonderful father, son, brother and uncle. His love of animals was legendary: so much so, he was our own Doctor Dolittle. Dogs and cats were drawn to him like a magnet, and he calmed them down, even when they were aggressive.
He was a carpenter for 60 years and after retirement, he enjoyed doing projects for others and taking care of his own home. He never seemed to grow old. He was a handsome man who walked tall and straight and took great pride in his appearance. Irving was a veteran of the U.S.Army and served proudly in France and Germany from 1950-1952 during the Korean war.
Irving lost his dear wife Margaret (Tiny) in 1998. They had two children a son Harold Walker (wife Vee) daughter Dianne (husband Bill Riehle). Bill was Irving's gin partner. Irving hated Maine winters so he would head west and share his time between his son's home in California, and his daughter's home in Arizona. When his son Harold and his wife Vee retired, they would travel to Maine each summer to enjoyed time with Irving.
Irving was predeceased by his wife, his parents, his brothers, Clifford and Bill Inman, and his sisters Jeanette Davis and Patricia Cushman.
Irving will be truly missed. Irving is survived by his children, Harold Walker and Dianne Riehle and four grandchildren, Jessi and Valerie Walker and Steven and Michael Reihle; His sisters, Olive Pierce and Juanita Estey both of Bangor; his special sister-in-law, Evelyn Inman of Winterport; Many nieces and nephews, Especially a most beloved grandniece Katie Proctor of Old Town. She was Irving's best friend and they shared a loving special bond.
Soar high Irving, wherever you go, it will be a better place because of you.
