Jack Kenney

June 22, 1930 — December 30, 2013

BREWER – Jack T. Kenney, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday December 30, 2013, while at his residence. He was born July 22, 1930 in Brewer, the son of William G. and Audrey H. (Cohoon) Kenney. Jack grew up in Brewer and was a graduate of Brewer High School class of 1949. He then graduated from Williams College of Banking. On March 10, 1951 he married Marilyn “Polly” Tucker and they would raise four children together. He was employed in the banking business for many years, retiring from Bank of America in 1990 as vice president of the consumer loan department. Jack was well known in the community for his fairness and integrity by which he conducted his life and business. Even though he was busy at the bank, Jack’s first love was his family and spending time with them. He was a very supportive father and grandfather, always going to their athletic events. He loved to garden and every spring was found planting a new tree in the yard. He enjoyed Sunday afternoon football, especially the Patriots. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Marilyn Kenney of Brewer, to whom he was totally devoted; a son Jack T. Kenney and his wife Cathy of Orrington; and three daughters, Kathie G. Towle and her husband Scott of Brewer, Marilynn R. Becknell and her husband Branan of Rockland, and Janet M. Capuano of Cranston, RI; five special grandchildren, Christopher Towle, Merritt and Jack Becknell, Nikole and Kaitlin Capuano; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother William G. Kenney Jr., sister Charlotte M. Kenney, and a grandson he missed very much, Michael Towle. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Sunday January 5, 2014 at Bangor Baptist Church 1476 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick and Assistant Pastor Tom Obey officiating. A reception will immediately follow after the service at the church.
