LEVANT- Jackie Anne Kimbrough, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Levant, Maine on January 14, 2023 at the age of seventy.
Born to Doris and Jesse McCrummen on March 19, 1952 in Mobile, Alabama, Jackie graduated from Lake County Community College in Leesburg, Florida. She spent the next sixteen years of her life providing love and care for the elderly as a Licensed Practical Nurse at various nursing homes along the east coast. Jackie was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Rev. Bennie D. Kimbrough, Jr. and brother, Ronald McCrummen. Jackie was an avid reader, collector of coins and dreamcatchers, and had a lifelong love of the Lord and all things John Wayne. She was seldom happier, however, than when she was fishing, especially with her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a garage full of well-used fishing poles and a tattered tackle box as a reminder of the wonderful times spent reeling in fish at many lakes, rivers and streams with her family.
Jackie was a loving and supportive mother, as fierce as a mama grizzly when it came to protecting and defending her family. She was so very proud of all her children, and would sing their praises to all that would listen. Outspoken and full of quick wit and southern charm, Jackie was loved by all that were blessed enough to have known her, and she will be missed more than words could ever express. Jackie is survived by her brothers, Jay McCrummen and Murray McCrummen;, sister, Janice Upshaw; daughters, Kimberly Proctor and husband Philip, and Elizabeth Kimbrough; son, Chad Kimbrough; six grandchildren, Sarah Rogers, Edgar Keniston, Haley Kimbrough, Hunter Kimbrough, Jacob Perry and Miranda Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
Jackie will be laid to rest in Center Hill, Florida alongside her husband, Bennie. Details of the memorial service will be determined at a later date.
