Jacqueline Thompson

ORONO - Jacqueline “Jackie” Thompson, 89, died suddenly December 31, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Born in Laconia NH, to Albert and Antoinette (Spenard) Joyal, in 1948 she married Basil W. Thompson, with whom she shared her life for 65 years. As a loving and supportive wife and mother, she liked nothing better than to play games and laugh and sing with her three children. Her friends knew her to be a wonderful listener who greeted everyone sincerely with a heartwarming smile and a hug.
After retirement, Jackie and Basil moved from Laconia, NH to Amherst, NS, where they lived for 20 years and formed many friendships and fond memories. In recent years, they have resided in Orono, ME with their daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and John Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Basil and 3 children: daughters, Maureen Maynes and Marsha Moore and her son, Basil W. Thompson, Jr. She was predeceased by an infant son, Michael. Loving and attentive grandmother to Jennifer Farr, Ryan Moore, Jared and Abby Martin, Alexander Moore, Ansel and Derek Thompson, and devoted great grandmother to Rosemary, Gabriel and Lily Farr, she will be truly missed.
