Jacquelyn Treadwell

September 29, 1933 — January 1, 2021

Veazie – Jacquelyn “Jacka” A. (Gould) Treadwell, 87, died January 1, 2021. Jacka was born September 29, 1933, in Claremont, NH, to Harold “Jay” and Eunice (Sawyer) Gould. Jacka graduated from Faye High School in Dexter, Maine and then Husson College in 1953 where she met her husband of 40 years, Dana. Jacka and Dana lived in Veazie their entire adult lives raising five children. Jacka worked at the John R. Graham school for many years in a variety of capacities, and then Always Flowers before her retirement. Her biggest joy was following her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as they competed in athletics and being proud of all of their academic and career accomplishments. Jacka was involved in the Eastern Star, the Bangor Jaycee’s and the Veazie Senior Citizens. She loved all New England sports teams, especially following the Maine Women’s basketball team. She also cherished her time camping with Dana and meeting many friends over the years. Teddy bears were a special love of Jacka’s, all shapes, sizes and meanings for her and those who gave them to her. Jacka was predeceased by her husband, Dana S. Treadwell in 1995. She is survived by her five children, Rosemary Freese (Andrew), Dana S. Treadwell II (Pamela), Stephanie Lund (Richard), Jay Treadwell (Donna) and Julie Treadwell (Joanne Szadkowski); grandchildren, Jennifer Freese (Rafal Subernat) and their children, Maya and Max, Jillian Chandler (Case) and their children, Lily and Wyatt, Melanie Miller (Colin) and their children, Alexis and Riley, Colby Treadwell (Jacqueline Mundry), Richard Lund III, and Jordan Treadwell (Micaela Gendreau); and special friends, Lee Honey and Dottie Brown. Jacka’s children would like to thank the staff at The Meadows in Old Town, the Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice of Maine from St. Joseph’s Hospital for their loving care and concern for their mother. Those who wish to remember Jacka in a special way can give to the Veazie Community School in her memory, c/o Mathew Cyr, Superintendent/Principal at 1040 School Street, Veazie, Maine 04401. Condolences to the family can be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com. Per Jacka’s wishes, services will be private for family. A graveside service will be announced in the spring for family and close friends.
