Glenburn - James A. Crawford, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on April 1, 2015, at the home he built himself in Glenburn. He was born January 30, 1944 in Dexter, the son of Carl and Rose (McGlauflin) Crawford.
He graduated from Dexter High School in 1962 and Maine Vocational-Technical Institute of South Portland in 1964. He served from 1965 to 1968 in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for General Electric in Bangor for 35 years.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman and craftsman. He loved nature and being outdoors fishing, ATV riding, hunting and spending time at the family camp in Abbot which he helped build when he was a teenager. He enjoyed reading, gardening and working in his wood shop. He was a good man who loved and looked after his family and always gave his very best in everything he did.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Rita; his son Carl and his wife Tracy, and his son Jason; grandchildren Joseph and Alyssa all of Glenburn; a sister Gloria Stuart and her husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and special friends Byron and Jackie Aubrey.
We feel blessed to have been a part of his life.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, 2 - 4 P.M. for family and friends to share in a celebration of his life at the Pine Grove Remembrance Center, 1347 Hammond Street, Bangor.
