James Fahey

January 1, 1927 — November 4, 2022

Bangor - James D. Fahey, Sr., 95, passed away after a brief illness on November 4, 2022, at his home surrounded by his children. He was born January 1, 1927, in Bangor, the son of Joseph D. Fahey and Ruby (Spinney) Porter.

James served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954-1956. He drove tractor trailer his entire career in many different capacities including long haul of furniture, the postal service, Fox and Ginn and Nissen Bakery. He briefly owned his own truck and hauled lumber for Sunbury. His CB handle was Goldfinger.

James was known for his quick wit and had a “look” that told you when it was coming. He was always looking for opportunities to say, “that’s what she said.” He loved to travel both locally and to other states. He made several trips to Disney in Florida. He liked the local flea markets and day trips with his children. He loved to tend vegetables and flowers in his garden. He also loved movies and television. He loved to ride motorcycles when he was younger. He spent a lot of time singing with his children when they were young sitting around the reel to reel, passing that legacy down to all his children who are still musical. He loved to dance and took line dancing lessons. He also loved disco when it was popular. He enjoyed going to lunch or dinner with his children. He will be dearly missed by all his children.

Surviving are his five children, Julie (Bozie) Hatch and husband Rick, James (Hoss) Fahey, Jr and wife Coleen, Gail (Bade) White and husband Craig, Annette (Shunkin) McCoy and husband Jim, and Jennifer (Weedie Tuff) Jamison. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Russell, and Margaret Fowler. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by sisters Joanne Hunt and Barbara Porter, brothers Dwight Fahey and Donald Porter.
