AMHERST James A. O'Halloran died November 17, 2018, leaving a life of courage and energy. His wife Paula will forever cherish his love, which was both a home and an adventure all at once.
Jim was a beautiful man of honor, humor and vitality. He overcame early adversity and dreamed big as he forged his own path. He looked every challenge right in the eye and never backed down. Intelligence, ambition and discipline allowed Jim to bring complex ideas to reality, and brought him success in numerous enterprises, including trucking, telephone company contracting, vehicle and equipment sales, real estate and land development.
Jim was a proud man who fiercely defended his reputation and possessions. He was tender, protective and generous to those he loved. Jim will be remembered for his epic storytelling, which often mixed misadventure with humor in unforgettable tales of his life. He loved land, old trucks, big machinery, children, a good laugh, a loving hug, and his steadfast friends and family.
Jim grew up in Amherst, the fifth child of Robert and Eleanor O'Halloran. He will be especially missed by his brothers Robert O'Halloran and Michael Avery, Sr.; sister Anne Beck; daughters Shannon (Pierre) Tellier, Sherry (Todd) Goeders, Lisa O'Halloran, and their families; and long-time friend Julian Bagley.
