James Martin Perkins, 55, died peacefully at his home in Carmel on December 30, 2013. He was born December 26, 1958 at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor.
Jim graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1977. He later enlisted in the Air Force where he was stationed in the Bahamas and later California and specialized in satellite communications. Jim later moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to work with his brother Wayne at a medical equipment company until 1992. After leaving Saudi Arabia he moved to Tampa, FL then to Waco, TX and finally back to Bangor in 2004 to help care for his ailing brother Wayne. He then worked for computer and copy machine repair companies.
Jim was passionate about music and loved collecting and sharing it. He inherited his father’s love of the outdoors as he was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish, and go camping. He loved to tell stories and make all those around him laugh.
Jim was predeceased by his father, Derward Wayne Perkins, and a brother Wayne Allen Perkins. He is survived by his mother, Mary Eileen Perkins of Winter Haven, Fl., sister, Sheila Anderson and her husband Lee of Winter Haven, Fl., brothers Randy Perkins and his wife Diane of Bangor, and Gary Perkins and his wife Diana of Bar Harbor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews Frank Rauccio and his wife Adrienne and children Breanna, Tyler, Brenley and Roman; Michelle Frye and her children Trey and Isabella, Samantha Perkins and Greg Perkins. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly.
