James H. Verge “Jim” 61, passed away unexpectedly February 2, 2021. He was born June 18, 1959 at Eastport Memorial Hospital. He is the son of James Howard Verge II and Loretta Ann (McLaughlin) Verge of Eastport.
Jim graduated from Shead High School, Class of 1977. He attended the University of Maine Orono. He married Carlota (Diffin) Verge in 1991 and they settled in Bangor where they raised their family. Jim celebrated 29 years of marriage to his wife Carlota this past December. Jim was a loving husband, father, bampy, brother, and son. Jim is survived by his wife Carlota Verge, son Jordan Verge and longtime girlfriend Elana Castiglia; his daughter Christie, husband Joshua Fish, granddaughters Ava & Eden and grandson Alexander of Houlton. He is also survived by parents James II and Loretta Verge, and brother John Verge and his wife Vicki of Pembroke; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved.
He enjoyed many hobbies. One special hobby was music. Jim was a talented guitar player, had a vast knowledge of music, and loved all forms of live performances. Jim was a jack of all trades and put his many skills to work as a beloved member of the Husson University maintenance team.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date. Jim loved his three dogs as well as all animals. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Bangor Humane Society. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
