EDDINGTON – Jane H. Plummer, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Jane was born on May 3, 1929, the daughter of Gardner and Irene Holden and grew up in Jackman.
Jane graduated from Jackman High School and Husson College. She married Charles J. Plummer on October 6, 1951. They settled in Eddington where they raised four children. Jane started her teaching career in Solon, eventually teaching, for many years, in the S.A.D. 63 School District. She was employed as a well-liked and well respected counsellor at Penobscot Job Corps from 1980 to 2001. In 2005 she earned a lifetime achievement award.
Jane loved and was active in her community. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, always willing to step up and help with fundraising for many worthy causes. Jane loved people, and helping people in ways that enhanced lives was important to her. She was also a state volunteer Ombudsman for people with Alzheimer’s.
Jane loved her family and friends. She enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, cooking, reading, playing piano, hiking, camping, gardening, history, and traveling. She enjoyed meeting and getting to know people.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband; a son, Richard Holden; brothers, John Holden, and Dick Holden; and sister, Marguerite Gerrish; and son-in-law, Jeff Pizzuti.
Jane is survived by her two sons, Ronald E. Plummer of Eddington, and William Holden of Brewer; daughter, Susan Pizzuti of Connecticut; grandson, Nicholas Pizzuti; many nieces and nephews who were so special to Jane and whom she loved dearly.
