Jane Dunning Shubert
Bangor… Jane “Sandy” Dunning Shubert passed away July 15th surrounded by her family. Jane was born in Bangor, Maine March 25th, 1934, to her parents John G Dunning and Carolyn Collins Dunning.
She graduated from Bangor High Class of 1952, went on to Westbrook Jr College.
Sandy was generous to a fault, she loved big and always tried to make the people in her life feel like they were the “Special One”. She loved surprising her friends and family with gifts or a bottle of wine and a good meal. She enjoyed every adventure to the fullest.
She led an amazing life and traveled on numerous trips but her favorite times were sitting with friends and family at the kitchen table or on the porch at Lamoine.
She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening. She had different and unique relationships with all her Grandchildren and thrived on their visits. They all were sure they were “The Favorite”.
Surviving are her children Jane and John Demaso, Jonni-Anne Carlisle and Colin Carlisle, Joseph A Garland and Jayson J Shubert and Allison Parker.
Grandchildren Tiffany and Jared Milligan, Abigail, Joshua, and Micheal Garland, William C Shubert and Alexis, Rachel, Elise and Sebastian; great granddaughters, Grace and Addison Milligan.
Numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews each one knowing they were the “Special One”.
She was able to see friends of over 50 years Barbie Chaples, and summer lunches with Jan Fox were a tradition. And can’t forget Cousin Tom Daley her “Favorite”
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Dr William J Shubert, brothers Tyler C and John G Dunning Jr. Her son James “Jimmy” Garland and Grandson Adam “AJ” Carlisle.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 2 pm to 4 pm Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
