Jane A. Seekins passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on May 7th, 2024.
Jane was born in Bucksport, Maine on December 5th, 1940. Jane spent many years at the house she and her husband built on Heart Pond, tending to her gardens, watching the wildlife, and doing the loon count in her pedal boat every summer. She enjoyed spending time at camp with her family and friends. Summers with her grandchildren were filled with homemade heart shaped waffles, tea parties, card games, and passing along her passion for arts and crafts. Jane was an avid hunter, being recognized for shooting one of the largest bucks in Maine in 2014. One of Jane's favorite hobbies was painting watercolors, including handmade cards for her family and friends for every occasion.
Jane was predeceased by her loving husband Harold of 59 years, by her mother and father, Dorothy and Harold, her brother Marvin, and her sister Nancy. Jane is lovingly remembered by her sister Carol, her sister Lorraine and husband Gaylord, by her sons Dana and his wife Lynn, Craig and his partner Wendy, and grandchildren, Tyler, Sean, Chelsea, Connor, and Jordan and her husband Jacob. Many thanks to the employees of the Memory Care Unit at Winterberry Heights for creating a happy and comfortable environment while Jane was living with Alzheimer’s disease.
