Jane M. Whitney

December 24, 1954 — February 15, 2022

BANGOR - Jane M. Whitney, 67, died peacefully on February 15, 2022, after a sudden illness, at Brigham and Women's General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1954, in Bangor, Maine, the youngest child of Philip E. and Abbie J. (White) Whitney.

She was predeceased by both parents, one sister; Linda L. Hatfield; and 2 brothers, Philip E. Whitney, Jr. and William A. Whitney. She is survived by one sister Barbara (Whitney) Cleveland of Bangor, one daughter, Amber J. Whitney, one son, Drew J. Parasso, one granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane took piano lessons as a child and always loved music. She enjoyed gardening and greeting all of nature's visitors. She was also a long-time member of The Eagles Club in Brewer, Maine and exemplified their motto of "people helping people", assisting a number of elderly folks in Bangor; running errands, housekeeping, and offering companionship.

Jane had a way about her that drew people to her. With her long blonde hair and her contagious smile, she could light up a room the moment she walked in. She was a beautiful, adventurous and free-spirited soul. Jane had a huge heart and deeply loved her family and her many friends. We will sadly miss Jane and her youthful spirit, but we are grateful for the time that we had her in our lives.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. Memories can be shared with the family at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
