Bangor – Janet M. Ramsdell, 86, passed away August 6, 2019. She was born June 2, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Etta (Simpson) Rand. A graduate of Brewer High School, she was employed as secretary at Coles Express, Eastern Corporation, and retired from Dead River Company after 34 years.
She was predeceased by sisters, Dolores Libbey Beaulieu, Dorothy MacLeod; brother, H. Kenneth Rand; her loving husband of 53 years, Arthur L. Ramsdell, J; also predeceased after a short marriage to the late Frank “Ben” Gunn.
Janet loved and trusted in the Lord and believed in living each day to its fullness. She enjoyed the good times she and Arthur had while traveling in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, books, walking, full moons, and lunching with her friends “The Lady Bugs.”
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Projansky and her husband, David, of Lewiston; granddaughter, Alyssa and husband, Tony Nile, of Auburn; son, Jeffrey A. Ramsdell and wife, Tammy, of Bangor; grandsons, Christopher Ramsdell, of Virginia; Ryan Ramsdell and wife, Melissa, of Bangor; Bryce Jones and wife, Kelly, of Bangor, and Tyler Jones of Bangor. A very special step-son, Michael Gunn and wife, Vicki of Melbourne, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many, many good friends. She is also survived by her beloved friend, Kenneth Merrill of Bangor, lifelong friend, Jackie Williamson, and dear friend, Rosemary Ford.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4-6 pm Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10:30 am Sunday, August 11, 2019, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, following the reception.
