Janette Lucille Elsemore, 87, passed away January 16, 2015 at the Ross Manor in Bangor. Prior to the last four months at Ross, Janette was a resident at Northwood in Bangor for more than 20 years.
Janette was born October 31, 1927 in Milo, the daughter of Mary Ann (Mitchell) and John Ellis. One of four sisters, she grew up in Brownville. After high school she moved to Bangor to attend college and met her husband Loring Leroy Elsemore. They raised their four children in Bangor. Janette worked at Kinney Office Systems for 30 years. After retirement, Janette was very active, enjoying many activities at the Hammond Street Senior Center, the Veazie Senior Citizens and the Senior League at the Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes.
Janette was predeceased by her parents, her husband Roy in 1975 and her sister Gwen. She is survived by her sisters Betty Cassidy of El Paso, TX and Blodwen Treworgy of Brewer; her aunt Alberta Rich of Charleston; her four children: Muriel and husband Tom Davis of Kenduskeag, Thomas and wife Chong Elsemore of Vancouver WA, Carol Elsemore of Augusta, Roberta and husband Bernie Allen of Battle Ground WA. She was much loved by her grandchildren Elizabeth Scro, her husband Steve and children Miguel, Raymond and Sarah; Thomas Davis III, his wife Suzanne and children Patrick and Caroline; Lynn Elsemore Cho, her husband David and daughter Chloe; Christopher Elsemore, and Amanda Allen. Janette was very fond of the “Davis girls” and their families: Mary Lord, Cathy Tilton, Mona Spear, Margaret Sullivan and Stephanie Chesley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janette’s family would like to thank the staff at Ross Manor and St. Joseph Hospice for their kind, skilled care and for the support shown to the family.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1 – 2 PM, Thursday, January 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with a memorial service to be held at 2pm, with Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brooking-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following the service.
