BANGOR – Jean Berberoglu, 94, passed away peacefully October 2, 2022, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born December 15, 1927, in Newport, Maine, the daughter of Harold B. and Isabelle M. (Coffin) Carson.
Jean graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1946. Following graduation, she attended Academie Moderne, in Boston, Massachusetts. Shortly after, she became a model for Hart Agency, out of New York. She was active in the Canterbury Club of the Trinity Neighborhood House, of Boston, teaching ballet dancing. She modeled at the Antique Show, held in the Copley Plaza Hotel.
Later in life, she settled down and raised a family in Bangor. She served many years in the healthcare profession.
Jean is survived by her children, Hayri Berberoglu II and his wife, Melanie, Gene Carson and his partner, Elizabeth Dianna Johnson; grandchildren, Hayri Berberoglu III and his fiancée, Alicia, Michael Robichaud and his wife, Jessica, Andrew Robichaud and his wife, Hilary, Aaron Robichaud and his wife, Laurie, Mehmet Carson and his partner, Hillary Mower, Isaac Carson, Elijah Carson and Jack Carson; a special great-grandson, Hayri Berberoglu IV; her sister, Gloria Webb, of Oklahoma; nephews, Tom Webb and his wife, Donna, Steve Webb and his wife, Diane; and several other extended family.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, services will be private. Those who wish to remember Jean in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society 693 Mt. Hope Avenue Bangor, ME 04401.
