Jean C. Megquier, 90, died May 18, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 21, 1928 in Dover-Foxcroft to Benjamin C. and Clara (Cookson) Cole.
She was a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of Bangor High School’s French medal. Jean was an avid bird watcher and mushroom gatherer, also was very proud to have climbed Mt. Katahdin, Big Squaw Mountain, Borestone Mountain, and the famous Mayan Pyramid Chichen Itza in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
She is survived by a son Philip Megquier and wife Laura; two granddaughters, Jennifer M. and Renee C. Megquier; a great granddaughter, Sheena Jean; two great grandsons, Colton and James Michael; a brother David Cole and his wife Ernestine; a sister Ann Chatfield; two brothers-in-law, Sherwood and Merrill Megquier; four nephews, Bruce, Paul, Clayton and Stephen Cole; a great grand dog Benny; and many cousins.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Megquier, Jr., grandson, James P. Megquier and brother-in-law, George R. Chatfield.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 4 to 6 pm Thursday May 23, 2019, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
