BANGOR-Jean Delano Grant, 89, went home to be with her Lord and savior at her home, February 17, 2016 surrounded by family. Jean was born in Lee, March 11, 1926, the daughter of Lee Delano and Ethel
(Thurlow) Delano.
Jean was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed anything she did whether it was creating arts and craft projects, sewing, knitting or crocheting. She enjoyed working with her friends at SAD#64 as a food service manager for many years. Mostly she loved being with family and the "love of her life" her husband Harold. They were inseparable.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Harold Grant; daughter, Ethel Odom and husband, Arnold of Moultrie, GA; Son Sonny Buswell, Jr. and wife, Donnetta of Corinth; son Rodney Buswell and wife, Debbie of Eddington; daughter, Peggy Mace and husband, Joe of Dover, NH; stepchildren, Richard Grant and wife, Carol, Judith Bradshaw and husband Will, David Grant and wife, Kathleen, Don Grant and wife, Carol, Kathy Grant, and Thomas Grant; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Buswell, two brothers and three sisters.
Special thanks to the staff of Winterberry Heights for all the loving care they have shown Jean & Harold over the past year. And thanks to step daughter Judy for all the love, time and care.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 3:30-4:30 pm, Monday, February 29th, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a service will be held at 4:30, with Rev. Roger Tracy of the East Eddington Community Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor immediately following the service.
