JEAN M. (MCKENNEY) LIBBY
EDDINGTON – Jean M. (McKenney) Libby, 88, died January 12, 2021, at a Bangor hospital. She was born September 9, 1932, in Springfield, the daughter of Dennis and Luda (Johnson) McKenney.
Jean graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, Class of 1950. Jean married Wilbur O. Libby Sr. on December 23, 1951 and celebrated their 69th anniversary in 2020. Jean had worked as a cook at school and the state hospital and also worked in retail at Epstein’s. Jean and her husband would make crafts and sell them at the craft fairs. Jean liked to attend senior luncheons to socialize. She spent 2020 in a Brewer nursing home where she liked to attend events and socialize with other residents. Jean was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Wilbur Libby Sr., is her daughter, Clara Gail Padilla and her husband, Luis, of Ocala, Florida; son, Wilbur Libby Jr. and his wife, Nikki, of Eddington; granddaughter, Julie Duran and her husband, Jarrod, of Corinth; and great-grandson, Josh, grandson, Luis Padilla and his wife, Maria, of Schertz, Texas; and their children, Lumari and Carmen; granddaughter, Maria Gaiss and her husband, Brian of Elko, Georgia; their children, Gavin, Bella and Elizabeth; Jean’s sister, Gail Jipson and her husband, Ellis, of Burlington; and other nieces, nephews and other family members.
A graveside service will be planned for the spring at Jonathan Eddy Cemetery.
