Jeannette (Martin) Webb, 89, wife of William Webb, passed peacefully December 9, 2020 at her Florida residence. She was born June 16, 1931 in Old Town, Maine to Alphonse and Mary (Cote) Martin, and graduated Old Town High in 1949.
Jeannette was happiest when entertaining for a house full of friends & family with 10 close siblings always together. She loved dressing up for classy events, parties, church and having a martini with candlelight dinners. She had a touch for decorating with an eye for color, style and fashion. Always willing to lend a helping hand, but donʼt let her iron. A force of energy, passion and determination, constantly moving, sewing dresses or drapes. Loved playing cards with her sisters or Bridge at Forest Lakes and the Center. She enjoyed her job as “the voice” of H.E. Sargent Co. for over 25 years, kidding with the men in the shop and her boss Ralph Leonard.
Jeannette is survived by her husband Bill, together for 56 years; son, Paul Desjardins & wife Pami; daughter, Paula Desjardins & partner Steve Kinney; daughter, Collette King & partner Joe Alvy; stepsons, William Webb Jr. & wife Suzy; Michael Webb & wife Michelle; grandchildren, Angela King Webber, Jodi Geaghan & husband Chris, Conor Webb, Christian & Caroline Webb; and beloved great grandchildren Colton Webber, Abigail & Holly Geaghan who were always making her laugh. Jeannette is also survived by her sisters Lorraine Preble of Bangor, Juliet Grant of Old Town, Pauline Blair of Bangor, Dorothy Folster and her husband Howard of Enfield, Gail Johnson of Bangor, and brother Richard Martin and wife Carrie of Ellsworth. Jeannette was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Mary Martin and brothers Gerald, Wilfred, Maurice and sister Irene Martin.
A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family from 10 AM until the start of the service. Following interment, the family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
