Jeffrey Green

January 12, 1956 — February 15, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) Alan Green, 69, of Bangor, Maine, who left us unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, on Kenduskeag Ave. in Bangor, Maine.

Jeff was born on January 12, 1956, in Winterport, Maine, to Charles P. Green and Ruth I. Inez. He grew up in Winterport, ME., where he developed a love of baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, and collecting baseball cards. Jeff graduated from Hampden Academy, Class of 1974, then would go on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Maine, showcasing his love for numbers and finances.

A devoted father, Jeff spent the majority of his life in Bangor, where he worked at Webber Oil Company as an accountant. He was deeply committed to his work, dedicating over 30 years to Webber before transitioning to a position as an accountant at Tradewinds. There, he formed lasting friendships, enjoying rounds of golf, concerts, trips to the casino, and watching sporting events.

Jeff had a deep passion for horse racing and visited the Bangor racetrack regularly. He also maintained his love for golf throughout his life, sharing the sport with his sons along the way.

Jeff had a strong love for others, and consistently donated blood at the Red Cross Center. He received his 14 gallon pin in April 2021.

Jeff was once married to Bonnie Krog, a union built on laughs, cooperation, and love. The two would be blessed with two boys, Adam Charles Green and Andrew Christian Green. Though their paths eventually diverged, the two would maintain a strong friendship together while supporting their children.

He is survived by his close friend and the mother of his sons, Bonnie Keebler; his sons, Adam Green of Bangor and Andrew Green of Bangor; his brother, Charles (Chuck) Green of Arizona and Chuck's ex-wife, Mary Green. He is also survived by Chuck and Mary's daughters, Julia and her husband, Dave Zajdzinski, along with their children: Ava, Ben, Lily, Katherine, and Stella, and Alison and her husband, Jason Castillo, with their children: Henry, Charles, William, and George. In addition, he leaves behind many extended family members, cherished friends, and his beloved pets, Misty and Cimba.

Jeff is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ruth Green of Winterport; his twin brothers Kevin and Steven.

A celebration of Jeffrey's life will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
