JOAN MAE COTE MILFORD - Joan Mae Cote, 69, died Feb. 19, 2006, at her home. She was born May 24, 1936, in Old Town, the daughter of Gerard and Juliette (Jamm) Dubay. Joan graduated from Old Town High School. She worked many years for Kagan Shoe and for Penobscot Shoe. Joan enjoyed her evenings with her "Club" lady friends and many outings and get-togethers with her sisters. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, had fond memories of traveling and enjoyed many bus tours. Joan was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and had over 1500 volunteer hours at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Her family was her life. She so enjoyed her time with twin grandsons, Adam and Nick, who were the highlight of her life. She was dearly loved by her husband, children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren and friends and will be deeply missed. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George Cote; a son, Tony Cote and wife, Bonnie, of Milford; and her daughters, Jessica and Candice; a daughter, Laurie Kenny and husband, Walter, of Orrington; a brother, Francis Dubay and wife, Anne, of Old Town; four sisters, Rose Simpkins of Old Town, Nancy Oakes and husband, Walter, of Milo, Beverly Therrien and husband, Wayne, of Stillwater, Dorothy Landry and husband, Arthur, of Old Town; twin grandsons, Adam and Nickalas Kenny of Orrington; granddaughters, Michelle Paterson and her husband, Tom, of Lebanon, Amanda McDonald and her husband, Taylor, of Bangor; grandson, Robert Kenny of Bangor; great-grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Paterson of Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Edward Paul Cote in 1965. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Holy Family Parish, 49 Main St., Old Town, with Rev. Wilfred Labbe, celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Tony's home, 23 Emerald Dr., Milford, following the service. Spring interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
