BANGOR – Joan M. Farley, 80, died unexpectedly August the 14, 2023, at a local healthcare facility. She was born December 19, 1942, in Bangor, the daughter of George A. and Madeline M. (McNally) Paul.
Joan is survived by her son, Patrick Farley; her grandsons, Anthony and Brandon whom she loved dearly; sister, Myrtle Lee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
Despite many challenges, she lived a full life, and worked herself until her body gave out to provide for me as a child. She never stayed long in a nursing home as her stubbornness wouldn’t allow her to accept the fact, she was old and needed a little help. She always gave everything she had to strangers, especially to those she loved, she gave her all. She had a strong faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and held her faith until the end. She wasn’t a pop star or known by thousands but the few who knew and loved her will be saddened and miss her dearly. It’s always that way when someone who loves you unconditionally is suddenly gone. Somehow the world is a little emptier and lonely now that they are gone. I will miss my mother dearly as well as those who knew her best and loved her the most. She wasn’t perfect as no one is. She always did the best she could with the tools she was given. I was blessed she was my mother. I love you Mom, see you on the other side.
