BANGOR – Joanne E. (Hughes) Delano, 88, died June 17, 2019 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born August 9, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Robert W. and Rose E. (Gorman) Hughes.
Joanne is a retiree of General Electric Company. She was the first female retiree in the company’s history. Joanne was greatly involved in volunteer work during the 1980’s and 1990’s with St. Joseph’s Hospice and Eastern Maine Hospice. She was a member of the Orono Senior Citizens, and the Bangor Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, June 21, 2019 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Old Town.
