JOANNE (STUBBS) GROVER

Joanne (Stubbs) Grover, 87, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at a Bangor Hospital. She was born August 2, 1936, in Bucksport, the daughter of Harry C. and Clara (Mercer) Stubbs.
Joanne loved playing cards and you could find her several nights a week playing Bingo with friends. She was a talented knitter and often sold her handmade treasures at local craft fairs. For many years, she was the local Avon lady to many clients, making house calls to sell products and catching up on the local happenings around town.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her husband, Les Grover; and sons, Gary Nelligan, and Jimmy Nelligan Jr.; brothers, Tommy Stubbs and Richard Stubbs; sister Marlene Stubbs.
She is survived by her children, Lorrie Jo Goodrich and husband, Albert Sr. of Ellsworth, Rosemary Nelligan of Holden and Michael Nelligan and wife, Janet of Holden; sisters, Judy Harriman of Brewer, Bonnie MacBrayne and husband, Jack of Orland, brother William Stubbs and wife, Nancy of Bucksport; stepsons Howard Grover, Dan Grover and Dennis Grover of Orrington; grandchildren Albert Goodrich Jr. and wife Erica of Ellsworth, Stefanie Beers of Holden, Kelly Hudson and husband, Chris of Hancock, Aaron Mitchell and wife Georgia of North Carolina; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Jed Prouty Assisted Living, who took great care of her this past year and Northern Light Health Eastern Maine Medical Center.
There will be a private interment at a later date.
