Joel J. McCluskey, 77, passed away peacefully at home April 9th, 2024. He was born April 6th, 1947, in Bangor, the son of John P. and Ernestine (Tilley) McCluskey.
Joel graduated from Orono High School and was a major athlete during his time there, participating in football, basketball and baseball. He went on to work for the New England Telephone Company, where he retired from after 27 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing as often as he could. One summer he played over 100 rounds and had 5 holes in ones over his years playing. Joel also enjoyed vacationing with his wife, Eileen, taking many trips to warmer climates as well as cruises together.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen McCluskey; his mother in-law, Mary Bodge; sisters in-law, Tricia Condon and husband, John, and Ann Bodge; nephews, Theo Konig, John Condon and wife, Krysty and their son, Elliot; niece, Ashley Toothaker and husband, Bryant, and their son, Wally. He is predeceased by his parents.
