John Bazzoni

July 24, 1935 — January 1, 2017

ORRINGTON – John Victor “Vic” Bazzoni, 81, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017, in his beloved farmhouse with his loving family by his side. Vic was born on July 24, 1935, the son of Sebastian and Josephine (Frassetto) Bazzoni.

Vic graduated from Greenwich High School, Greenwich, CT. Following graduation, Vic worked as a draftsman until entering the military, serving in the US Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in Baumholder, Germany. After his service to our country, he earned a degree from Brooklyn Institute of Design and Construction and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Palastro. Together they had three children and lived for many years in Danbury, CT. Vic was a distinguished Architect, designing many buildings, schools, and hospitals during his career.

Vic was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a faithful servant of our Lord. He was a member of the congregation at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Bucksport. He had a wonderful singing voice, enjoyed classical music and was often heard rooting on his favorite sports teams, the NY Mets and NY Giants. He was also a natural born teacher and shared his knowledge by teaching various courses for local organizations including the Lake Candlewood Power Squadron and the Ramapoo Rifle and Revolver Club. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA.

Vic is predeceased by his parents. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Elizabeth, are his son, John Victor Bazzoni Jr. and wife Marya of Southbury, CT; daughters, Danielle Duff and husband Oscar of Kent, CT, Lori Mason and husband Michael of Orrington; grandchildren, Christian Bazzoni, Victoria Mason, Max Mason, and Jack Mason; his sister, Celeste Nigro, many nieces and nephews, and a special uncle, Paul Frassetto.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 60 Franklin Street, Bucksport on Tuesday, January 10, at 10:00am.
