Edinburg—John R Grabau, 52, died unexpectedly November 14, 2018 at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, Maine. He was born in Rhode Island on August 19, 1966, the son of Richard John Grabau and Diane Cecelia (Langille) Grabau Perry.
John graduated from Middleboro High School in 1984. Following graduation, he served with the Air Force, and recently retired from the Maine Air National Guard. John married Cindy Cordeiro on Sept. 17, 1994. John and Cindy recently celebrated 24 years together. John was THAT GUY who would always lend a helping hand for whatever you needed. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, going to amusement parks, traveling, or just hanging out around a campfire. John’s motto was: life is too short not to have fun!
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his step-father Edward. Surviving in addition to his wife Cindy, are his sons; Joshua Grabau, and Justin Grabau of Edinburg; a daughter, Claudia Grabau and her husband, Joseph McGouldrick, of Howland; grandchildren, Finler and Daman McGouldrick; a sister, Darlene Grabau-Cohen and husband, David Cohen, of Brockton Massachusetts; brother, Marc Perry from Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments 1-3 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be private for family.
