John Kenneth King 79, passed away January 19, 2023 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born in Bangor, Son of Kenneth and Helen (Barrett) King
John graduated from Orono High School class of 1962, after high school he completed a degree in Electrical Engineering and 26 years combined military service between the Navy and Air National Guard. He worked at the Bangor Hydro, The Telephone Company, and with his wife he owned the Subway on State Street in Bangor. During retirement, his time was well spent with his family, the Hermon Legion Post, Blue Grass music, love of classic cars and motorcycles, and spending time with his Ocean Gallery friends in St. Augustine
During the events of his health complications the staff of Hermon Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northern Light EMMC went above and beyond to make us feel like he was in the best of care and was treated with utmost respect. His friends and family couldn’t thank them enough for all that they did.
Surviving are his wife Christine of 43 years; four children, Angelia and husband Rick, Cindy and husband Ed, Jessica and husband James, and son John; three granddaughters, Emma, Karson and Reagan; a brother Marshall, brother-in-law Mark.
Services will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
