John R. McNerney, 55, passed away, May 31, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Bangor, December 13, 1960, the son of Charles and Diane (Moon) McNerney.
John worked for many years with the Old Town Paper Mill. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a talented gardener and could grow any kind of fruit or vegetable he wanted. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and the camp on East Grand Lake. He was a great brother and friend.
John was predeceased by his father, Charles H. McNerney. He is survived by his mother, Diane E. McNerney; son, Joshua McNerney; brothers, Fred McNerney and wife, Karen, and Raymond McNerney and fiancé, Samantha; nephews, Michael, Liam and Landon; niece, Cassidy; many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as many dear friends. The family wishes to thank Deanna and Ronnie Thurston and Maureen Scranton for the help and support they received throughout John’s illness.
A funeral will be held 11am, Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10 am until time of service. Interment will be at Hudson Village Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
