OLD TOWN - John Moriarty died in a single-vehicle accident Saturday evening, September 3. He was 59. Son, brother, husband, dad, grandfather, uncle, and compassionate friend: He belonged to us and with us, and he is gone too soon. John was a lover of photography, conversation, the outdoors, and the underdog. He spent his life caring for others. John's compassion had no end, whether it be family, friend, stranger, or animal. He was there to make you feel whole. Putting John's existence into words is an unbearable task. For his essence does not live in words but, rather, in feeling. His life was one that gave purpose and a laugh to all in need and a hug when you didn't know you needed one. John leaves his mother, Evelyn Moriarty; his son and daughter, Tom and Kaitlyn, and their mother, Kathy Moriarty; his granddaughter, Fleur; his brother, Tom Moriarty, and sisters, Noreen Skoolicas and Claire Moriarty; and his niece, Megan Gomez Moriarty.
