ELLSWORTH – John Robert “Bob” Mott, 95, passed away peacefully December 10, 2020, at his home on Green Lake, Ellsworth. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 6, 1925, in Bangor, the son of Bruce and Dorothy (Stone) Mott.
Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in WWII in the European Theater.
After the war, Bob returned home to marry his sweetheart, Priscilla White in 1946. The remained happily married until Priscilla’s death in 2007.
While he retired from a decades long career as a commercial truck driver in the 1980’s Bob continued to find joy in making himself available for any task or job that was presented to him until shortly before his death.
As a Freemason and Shriner for over 60 years, he maintained a robust social life, while remaining available to help anyone in need.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his sisters, Adelaide, Dolly, Marjorie; brother, Herbert. He is survived by his daughter, Pam and her husband, Greg Marsanskis, of Morrill; granddaughters, Megan and her husband, Jeff Chitwood, of Cape Coral, Florida, Jenna and her husband, Kyle Bergey, of Appleton, and Chanelle Cyr of Palermo; great-grandchildren, Elijah Bowman, Jeffrey Chitwood, Ava Chitwood, and Calvin Lam; sisters, Marilyn King, of Lincoln, Florence Milton, of Milford, Deleware, Charlotte page, of Jay; brother, Alden Mott, of Elgin, South Carolina; a dear friend, Betty Kimball, of Lincoln; and a large, extended family.
Bob will be missed by his Sylvia’s Café and Nicolin Road “families”, as well as the numerous other friends and neighbors that will so fondly remember him for his unannounced and welcomed visits.
The family looks forward to celebrating his life at a later date to be announced. Those who wish to remember Bob in a special way are invited to make a charitable gift in his memory to the Shriner’s Hospital, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, Me 04401.
