John Lewis Sullivan
BANGOR – John Lewis Sullivan, age 4, died after a brief illness on February 6, 2019 at Boston Children’s Hospital, surrounded by people who loved him. John was born on August 12, 2014 in Bangor, Maine, the son of Andrew Kevin Sullivan and Angela Irene (Washburn) Sullivan.
John’s smile lit up any room he entered. He loved playing with his cars and listening to music, especially “dada’s music, not momma’s music,” He was always ready to go out and play, swim or bowl and could run like The Flash. He loved spending his days playing and exploring with family and recently with his friends and Aunt Kristen at ABC Preschool. John loved playing with his cousins and his friends, or going just about anywhere with his Mom, Dad and Sister. He was Mommy and Daddy’s smiling little superhero and will forever be running through their hearts.
John was predeceased by his grandfather, Lewis Washburn. In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sister, Brooklyn Sullivan of Brewer, grandparents John Sullivan and his wife Joan Sullivan of Bangor, Leita Washburn and her fiancée, Scot Shorey of Glenburn; aunt and uncle Michael Washburn and Kristen Washburn and cousins James and Ryan Washburn of Brewer; aunt and uncle Shawn Sullivan and Jamie Sullivan and cousin Leah Sullivan of Silver Spring, Maryland, aunts Jessica Barker of Yarmouth, Rae Barker of Jacksonville, Florida, and uncle Ian Barker of Bangor along with many extended family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life and offer love and support to his parents on Wednesday, February 13th 12:00 to 1 P.M. at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St, Bangor. The public reception will be followed by a private ceremony and internment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember John’s memory with a gift, may make a donation to Maine Discovery Museum, a place where John loved to learn and play, at https://www.mainediscoverymuseum.org/donate.
