Jonathan “Jon, JR” Robert Blais, 44, of Hampden passed away on September 10, 2022. He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and is survived by his parents, Thomas and Suzanne Blais of Hampden, Maine. Jonathan carried an eternal love for his children, Julian and Fiona Blais.
Jon followed his maternal grandfather, and was a gifted carpenter for most of his life. He was a perfectionist in his vocation. He had a passion for music and food, and loved fishing, camping, kayaking and horticulture. Jon had a love for knowledge and was often too smart for his own good. He was a great source of a long laugh.
In addition to his parents and children, he is survived by his sisters, Allison and Elizabeth Blais, his nieces, Hannah Lefebvre and Sophia Blais; his nephew, Benjamin Lefebvre. Jon’s heart deeply loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of us and remembered by his beloved people for all the memories. He touched us all in so many ways and left far too soon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022, at St.
Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church and can be mailed to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
