Joseph Davis

BREWER - Joseph Wilbur Davis, 86, passed away peacefully July 16, 2023 at his home in Brewer with his wife by his side. Joseph was born in Milo, ME. on June 17, 1937 to Joseph and Virginia (Shaw) Davis. He graduated from Brownville Junction High School, class of 1956. Joseph married the love of his life, Joan Foulkes in 1960. Together, they built a life, raising three wonderful children, and starting a business, Maine Sound and Intercom, which they owned and operated for 35 years. Joseph served in the Army at Fort Bragg NC and South Korea in the Army Security Agency.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Davis; children, Jane Robiner of Tampa FL; grandchildren Alexis Robiner-Horvat (Nate), and Taylor, Tyler and Nick Robiner; Janice Houp of Saco ME; grandchildren Courtney Houp Bentgen (Jamie); (great granddaughter Parker Bentgen) and Ashley Houp (fiancé Austin Mills); Joseph Davis and wife So Yeon of Milford CT; grandchildren Thomas and Emily Davis. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and sister-in-law, Gayle Foulkes. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary MacLean and Jean Pollard; brother, Ron Davis; a special son in law, Mitch Robiner and brother-in-law, Jack Foulkes.

The family would like to extend their thanks to both Constellation Hospice and Aging Excellence as well as special family friends, Darrell and Donna Lyford, David and Melissa Lorenz, Ray O’Day and Shirley Hall for their care and compassion.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
