Joseph “Joe” Thaddeus Keleher, 70, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 5, 2019, surrounded by his family at Meadowview. He was born December 10, 1948, in Boston, Mass the son of Joseph F. and Regina (Lynch) Keleher.
Joe loved to listen to music and had many play lists. Since his mother’s passing he made time every week, and sometimes many times a week, to visit her burial site at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. He enjoyed eating out and was humored by asking for his bottomless cup of coffee. Joe’s passion was reading and being a historian and knowing many facts and details of events that happened years ago. More than anything he believed in Jesus and the Catholic faith and was often found reading his bible. He enjoyed visits from his friend and beloved priest, Rev. Wilfred “Bill” Labbe.
He is survived by cousins: Sgt. James R. Lynch and wife Penny, Janet E. Mariano, Lillian Themo, and Jo-Anne Themo-Milano, and his cherished friends who he considered family at Meadowview. A special thank you goes to the staff of CHCS New Hope Hospice for their wonderful care and to the Department of Health and Human Services for their care and assistance over the years.
A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 1 PM, Monday, March 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Friends may visit with the family from 12 PM until the start of the service. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Joe in a special way may make gifts to CHCS Residential and Hospice Services, P.O.
