Joyce Bowness

Levant - Joyce E. Bowness, 75, of Levant, passed peacefully at home on February 2, 2025. Surrounded by the love of her two children, she gained her angel wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Joyce was born on October 31, 1949, to Harold and Patricia Wilcox.

She was a graduate of Bangor High School and continued her education at Mansfield Beauty Academy, gaining her cosmetology instructors license, and teaching for many years before opening her own salon, Hairstyles Your Way by Joyce. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Bowness, on December 14, 1979.

Joyce was a longtime member of Harvest Chapel, attending Sunday services and often volunteering her time at the church. She came from an auto racing family and continued that love with her husband, owning multiple race cars. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; and brother, David Wilcox. She is survived by daughter, Robin (Wendell) White; son, Ronald (Jay Lonergan) Wilcox; grandchildren, Brett (Nicole) White, Courtney (Brian) Roach, Jacob Gagnon, and Emden Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Claire, Hudson, Callan, and Reese; stepdaughters, Barbara Overlock and Deb Thomas; and sister-in-law, Penny Wilcox.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Harvest Chapel, 3531 Union Street, Levant, with a reception to follow.
