Joyce Engelmann

Joyce S. Engelmann, 74, joined her beloved husband of 48 years on September 15, 2019 after complications from a sudden illness. Her surviving family include her children; Holly Pierce and husband Sean, Monica Engelmann, Erica Engelmann, Michael Engelmann and wife Donna, and Carl Engelmann IV and wife Shelby; grandchildren; Ben and Nathan; siblings; James Landon and wife Marsha, Richard Landon and wife Diana, Dawn Hagberg and husband Pete, Jean Rourke and husband Jack, and numerous other family members. Joyce was predeceased by her playful and adoring husband, Carl Engelmann III; a sister Norma McCready; and her parents Sylvia and James Landon.

Joyce worked as a nurse clinic coordinator at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 25 years. She was very active in her community via volunteering for UCP of Maine and Camp Capella. Joyce enjoyed being outside during all seasons and loved gardening, kayaking, and camping. She also enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking and baking, sewing, and taking care of her menagerie of animals.

There will be a Memorial Reception from 12-2 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Joyce’s family kindly asks for donations in lieu of flowers to Camp Capella, P.O Box #552, Holden, ME 04429. In the spirit of celebrating Joyce they also ask for anyone in attendance to wear purple or a similar color.
