Joyce Weaver

April 5, 1960 — February 15, 2021

WINTERPORT- On Monday, February 15, 2021, Joyce Marion Weaver, loving wife and mother of two passed away suddenly at the age of 60.

The shock of her death rings far and wide for her family, friends and loved ones. As a leader in her community, everything that Joyce touched became warmer and more cared for. She had a gentle and cheerful soul and loved widely and deeply. With such a grand heart, it can’t be ignored that she died so close to Valentine’s day. Joyce had a one in a million personality, she was kind, patient, and was properly named “Joyce” after her abundant joy and the joy she gave to those that knew her.

Joyce was born to Frank and Lucy Whiting on April 5, 1960 in Belfast, Maine. She grew up surrounded by love. Joyce graduated from Searsport District High school in 1978. After graduating, she met and married the love of her life, Paul Weaver on May 1, 1982. They lived in Winterport, Maine and had two children, Sara Elizabeth and Craig Allen. They ran their household based on the values of hard work, happy memories, and deep and everlasting love.

Joyce had an incredible devotion to her family and her community. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She was always willing to help and always there to listen and console. She had a generous spirit, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. This sense of selflessness and love for all was fostered by a deep and personal faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Professionally, Joyce worked with Cooperative Extension and 4-H to create meaningful and lasting educational opportunities for the youth of Waldo County. She had an enthusiastic passion for raising up and bettering her community through positive youth development.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband Paul Weaver, daughter Sara Ballard and son-in-law Gregory, son Craig Weaver and daughter-in-law Kaitlyn, parents, Frank and Lucy Whiting, her sister Janice Whiting-Bucklin and brother-in-law Ben, her sister Jackie Joy and brother-in-law David, her sister Jillene, her grandchildren Maximilian and Lillian Ballard, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and graveside service will be held in the spring with details to follow at a later time.

With the passing of Joyce Weaver, we are reminded to live our lives with a friendly love for our family and friends and a service inspired mind. We will miss you and love you always and will carry you in our hearts and memories forever. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
