CARMEL – Judith Elizabeth (Wentworth) Bryant, 79, passed away April 6, 2019, at her home, with friends, family, and her special dog companion, Noah, by her side. She was born February 1, 1940, in Kezar Falls, the daughter of Hubert and Edith Wentworth.
Judy graduated from Bangor High School. She married Harley Melvin Bryant on Valentine’s Day, 1955, and together shared 63 happy years of marriage. Judy worked as a cook for many years. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Judy lived for family. Everything that she and Harley did was for her family. In the mid 1970’s, Judy and Harley were strong advocates for grandparent’s rights, and fought for them for many years, a cause which was dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband, Harley; a daughter, Susan Cole; and a grandson, Wesley Harley Hatt. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Tozier of Hermon, granddaughters, Aimee Hatt of Newburgh, Amidy Cole of Bangor; a grandson, Evan Cole and wife, Jillian of Etna; great-grandchildren, Joel Hatt of Monroe, Patrick Cole of Bangor, and Lauren and Jacob Cole of Etna.
A gathering to remember Judy’s life will be held 2-4 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden, later in the spring. Those wishing to remember Judy in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt.
