BANGOR – Judith A. “Judy” Flanagan, 74, wife of the late Paul R. Flanagan died March 20, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1939 in Island Falls, daughter of Edward K. and Madeline (Michaud) Pelkey.
Judy was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1958 and a U.S. Navy veteran. She was further educated and received her L.P.N at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing where she spent her working career. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, with the Ladies Y Player Singers and was an avid Bingo enthusiast.
Surviving are four children: Mark Pelkey and his wife, Donna of Gorham, Shelley Burton and her husband, Jerry of Westbrook, John Flanagan and his wife, Laurie of Bangor and Kari Dow of Bangor and her companion Jeremy Wittine; eleven grandchildren: Todd, Mallory, Dylan, Derek, Christopher, Tyler, Abbigail, Lacy, Kaleb, Kameron and Jaidan; three brothers: Edward Pelkey and his wife, Jackie, Gayland Pelkey and Michael Pelkey and his wife, Marie; nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11am Monday, March 24, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10am until time of service Monday. Spring interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
