Judith A. (Ellis) Solari, 80, passed away February 15, 2021, at a Bangor healthcare facility with her son by her side. She was born in Bar Harbor on July 27, 1940, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Helen (Grover) Ellis.
Judith graduated from Mt. Desert High School in Northeast Harbor. She was accepted to Colby College but decided to work for the Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor until the birth of her son, Jeff, in 1970. Judith spent much of her life in Otter Creek until moving to be close to Jeff and his wife Catherine in Alabama, Oklahoma and Bangor. Judith was a big Red Sox and Patriots fan, and enjoyed college football and NASCAR. She collected hundreds of pieces of jewelry and loved antiques, genealogy, collecting baseball cards, gardening and more. She maintained her ability to wow others with her trivia knowledge until her final days.
Judith absolutely adored her family; Jeffrey Solari and wife Catherine of Bangor, her dear grandchildren, Andrew, Ainsley and Caitlin; her mother Helen and Arnold Wright; and her best friend Joan Carter of Otter Creek, three half-brothers and several cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Gary in 1997. They were high school sweethearts and she missed him terribly every single day. The family would like to thank the amazing employees at Stillwater Healthcare, Phillips-Strickland House and Dirigo Pines, all the places she called home in recent years.
Graveside services will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery in the spring. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
