EDDINGTON – Judy A. Bustard, 63, died April 11, 2016 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born August 12, 1952 in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Harry F. and Mary S. (Murphy) Bustard.
Judy was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1970, the University of Maine, B.S. degree with honors in 1974. She obtained a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA and a certificate of Advanced Studies. She was a well-known and respected teacher in the Milford Elementary school for 33 years where she taught general courses and was a Computer Science coordinator. Judy was past president of the Teachers Association Union 90 and served as Contract Negotiator for the teachers. She will be remembered as a colorful character when it came to coaching and refereeing basketball and her players loved her. As a member of the Teacher Core Program Judy also became a deputy sheriff to supervise middle school dancers.
Surviving are one brother, Fred Bustard of Scarborough; a niece, Karen Crandall and her husband, Clair of Gray; two nephews, Dan Bustard of Scarborough and Joe Bustard and his wife, Lynda of Simpsonville, SC; several great nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Barbara Plisga.
A memorial service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the reception rooms immediately following the service Thursday.
